hey I am wantimg to throw my daughter a secret celebrity suprise party.She adores Hannah montana. I am thinking about having a red carpet(roll of red felt paper)with large gold stars with the kids' names on them. We will do makeovers with glittery make up and glitter hair spray. I am thinking of getting some hair paint for the boys too. So here brings me to the part I'm not sure of, can I ask the parent's to have their kids bring old jeans? I wanted to let the kids decorate them with fabric pens. I am not sure if it is proper. Do I have to supply that? The kids are gonna wear their cool jeans and their new inner divas will do some karaoke for the finale. Anyway I thought maybe someone could let me know what they think about the jeans. I really want my daughter's 7th to be over the top! She has a pretty bad birhtday(Dec.26th) and so I want to throw her an early suprise party in hopes she may have some guests.

Terrific idea on the Hannah Montana/diva theme. And absolutely you can ask the parents to donate old jeans.

Here's the way to handle it, so your daughter doesn't find out. Call each parent individually, swearing them to secrecy (you know young girls can't keep a secret!), and let them know about your craft idea. Give them at least a week or two lead time, so they can select an old pair of jeans or purchase an old pair at a thrift store.

In addition to the glitter pens, etc., you may want to have a sewing machine handy with some ribbon, lace edging, etc. that you quickly attach to the bottom hem of any outgrown jeans.

Thank you so much for your idea about sewing something on the hem of the outgrown jeans.That is a really good idea. I was wondering what you thought about the gift bags? I was thinking of ordering these Cd cases, from Oriental trading, they are white canvas and the kids would get to decorate them. I know that I am making each kid a cd with Hannah montana, Cheetah girls, and Highschool musical. These will be the songs they will do karaoke to.Do you think it is too much for seven year olds?
