» Barbara Nicholson Bell - What is hospitality?

In response to What is hospitality? posted by Soup2Nuts:
When I was a girl, I earned the "Hospitality" badge in Girl Scouts. In fact, it was my mother who came to the meetings and shared with the troop all the aspects 10-year-olds could grasp of the concept. When I think of hospitality I think of her.

She always put herself in the shoes of the other person, and treated guests as if they were family and family as if they were treasured guests. She loved to entertain, and her house was warm and welcoming.

Hospitality, then, could be defined as making others feel comfortable no matter what the situation might be. It includes respect, sharing, kindness, and tolerance. Does that help answer your question?
