I found the best halloween parties were the mandatory costume parties. If you make grown ups play, they find they enjoy it. Whereas, if you make it optional, many don't feel they have permission or inclination...it's a buzz kill when some guests are in costume and others aren't. Themes can be fun, too.

Agree? Disagree? Ideas?

So True! Making the costumes mandatory almost gives the adults permission to push the envelope. I had a great time at a 50th birthday party, where we were all required to arrive in costumes from the show, "Grease." Some dressed as Beauty School Dropouts, others were Frankie Avalon-styled Teen Angels, and there were a slew of Frenchies, Sandys and Dannys. Any others have similar experiences?

We attended an adult halloween party a few years back. The theme was "World Leaders." I went as Idi Amin. Had some interesting reactions.
