Should you remove your shoes when you enter a host's house? Here is my thought on the matter. When in Rome, do as the Romans. I know it's corny, (embarrassingly bad pun, intended), but the best way to answer this question is to simply look at the host's feet. If his/her shoes are off, then you should assume that your shoes should be off. If your host is wearing shoes, then you can probably keep yours on, too.

Take note of the entranceway, looking for a shoe storage area like I described in Prep Your Home. Otherwise, just look at your host's feet to be pointed in the right direction.
