No matter what one may hear or read from a variety of expert sources, a fantastic Mother’s Day gift can be obtained from a wide array of everyday locations.

So what is the one common link that places the perfect Mother’s Day gift at each of these definitely pedestrian locations? Aha – the common thread is your intentional thoughtabout the gift recipient.

Taking this concept a step further, think of the best gift you ever received.

Perhaps your perfect gift did include some of these elements, but it’s arguable that one reason the gift was ideal, was because it answered your need at that point in your life.

So, before you begin the search for the perfect gift for your own mother, take a moment to reflect on her lifestyle. Think about your discussions with her over the past year.

Now that you’ve found a particular need, it’s your time to shine as you find the perfect solution to that need. Following are some sample ideas that could be perfect gift for your mom.

If your mom dislikes housekeeping chores, the expected answer would be to gift her the services of a housekeeper. However, a more personal way to solve this need would be to purchase a set of cleaning supplies at a discount store like Wal-Mart (yes Wal-Mart!), and then to train all of the local grandchildren in the housekeeping preferences of grandma. The actual gift that she would receive would be the weekly or biweekly appearance of her beloved grandchildren to visit with her, to create a multi-generational bond and to clean her home. This is truly a win-win gift that serves a purpose, crosses three generations, and was actually purchased at a discount store!
