Share these fun indoor games with family and friends, large group or small, young and old, on a rainy day, after dinner or for a special occasion
Reverse Lotto – Game for Individuals
- number small pieces of paper, say, 1 to 40 (these are the lotto "balls") and place them in a bowl
- draw up lottery slips, one for each player, with numbers 1 to 40. Make sure each player writes their name at the top of their lottery slip. Give players a minute or two to mark off six numbers of their choice on their lottery slip
- draw six numbers from the bowl
- every player checks these against the numbers they have marked on their lottery slip and adds up the total
- then comes the fun bit. Instead of winning great prizes for getting the winning numbers they win great forfeits. If a player has had all six of their numbers drawn from the bowl they need to perform six forfeits. A player with no numbers drawn gets to sit back and watch the "winners" squirm.
If there are children playing, some forfeits may include
- allow everyone in the room to tickle you without laughing
- do a chicken impression while doing a lap of the room
- let the player to your right draw a moustache on you
If there are only adults, some forfeits may include
- exchange two items of clothing with someone of the opposite sex
- kiss the most attractive person in the room
- turn to the person on your left and give them a sample of your (sexy) pillow talk
Fruity Indoor Bowls – Game for Two Teams
You will need quite a bit of space for this one. You will also need a lemon for each player and a single apple.
- divide players into two teams
- each player should mark the peel of their lemon with an identifying mark, say initials
- decide which team goes first
- the first player rolls the apple across the floor
- then he/she rolls their lemon, trying to get as close as possible to the apple without touching it
- the rest of the players roll their lemons, trying to knock the fruit of the other players out of the way at the same time getting as close as possible to the apple
- alternate with one member from each team until every player has rolled their lemon
- the player closest to the apple wins that round
- continue until each player has had a chance to roll the apple
- tally up the rounds won to find the winning team.
Lemons certainly make the game challenging because of their shape. If you'd prefer an easier version swap the lemons for oranges or grapfruit.
