Setting up your girls birthday party with an in-home Day Spa theme is effective, yet easy.
Thermal Massage for a Spa Party
This station can be set up on a plush carpet, and the girls will each need to pair up. The guest receiving the massage (the client) will lie face down on the carpet, and her partner will act as massage therapist. Using large flat stones that have been warmed in the oven at low heat, the massage therapist will place the stones down the length of the client’s back, on either side of the spine. After letting the stones warm the client’s back for several minutes, the therapist will use the heels of her hand to provide deep muscle massage of the client’s back and shoulders. The girls can swap roles and repeat this station.
Detoxification
Part of every spa experience is a cleansing and detoxification process. Since the guests will be young girls, teach the concept of a detox cleansing, but only follow it up with a gentle process of herbal tea and cucumber sandwiches. This is a great time for the girls to chat about their massage experience.
Foot Spa
Use a plastic dish pan with a layer of marbles on the bottom. Open a trash can liner and place the pan with marbles into the opening. Pour hot water into the lined dishpan. Add a couple of squirts of Arbonne’s Aromassentials Unwind Massage Oil and one tablespoon of Unwind Bath Salts, and let the guests soak their feet for 10 minutes.
Towel off the feet and pamper them with some Arbonne Unwind Body Lotion. This station is wonderful, and inevitably, the girls will want to linger here a little longer. Since this delay could cause a backlog as the adult helper is emptying liners, sliding on new trashcan liners and refilling the hot water mixture, you may want some additional help at this station.
Following the four-station mini spa experience, you can conclude the party with a traditional cake and gift opening session. You can offer a brief meditation period for the group, by creating a peaceful space filled with soft music and aromatherapy candles. Offer each girl a slip of paper, which lists several thoughtful questions on it, to spark her reflections.
Conversely, if you want to dial the party up following the four-station mini spa session, consider moving the girls to an area for dancing or taking candid photos. You could even include a manicure/pedicure station and something really eclectic like a Hair Braiding station manned by a professional stylist.
