Twilight is one of the most popular series since Harry Potter. Have fun with your friends by throwing a Twilight themed party.

Stephenie Meyer hit a home run with her popular vampire series Twilight. Millions of teenage girls and grown women have obsessively followed the beautiful love story of Bella and Edward Cullen. There are many opportunities to throw a Twilight Party with the new movies coming out and, of course, Halloween is always a good time to throw a good vampire party.

Twilight Party Food

Food can make the party. Consider serving mushroom ravioli, which is what Bella ate after Edward saved her in Port Angeles, or eggs which is what Bella craved when she was pregnant with her daughter. You could also incorporate other food mentioned in the books such as cinnamon rolls, beef stroganoff, or steaks. For drinks, you could serve Bloody Marys or Strawberry Daiquiris to represent the vegetarian blood. If the party goers are of the underage crowd, you could easily make the virgin versions of the drinks.

Decorations

Look for Twilight movie posters to decorate the walls. Have the Twilight books out on display and light several candles for that romantic feel. If you are a fan of Jacob, look for pictures of wolves to place around the party. The Cullen family likes to decorate in light, airy tones, so take that into account when choosing accessories. These are not your coffin and dungeon vampires.

Music

Play the CDs from the Twilight and New Moon movies in the back ground. Both are available in most stores or online. You could also have some piano music playing in the background. Edward loves playing and composing piano music for his family. Clair De Lune is one piano piece that is mentioned in the books. Also, Stepehnie Meyer says on her website that the music that Bella listenes to in Chapter 7 of Twilight is Linkin Park.

Games

Play some of your favorite traditional party games, but with a twist. Have your guests divide into Team Edward and Team Jacob to make it a little more competitive and in line with the theme. There are also several Twilight games that are available in stores or online for purchase. Try some of the games mentioned in the books such as chess, arm wrestling, and building houses of cards.

Dress

Encourage your guests to dress as their favorite Twilight character. Make a game out of it to see who comes dressed as the best Edward, Bella, Alice, Jacob, etc. One way to complete the look of the costume is to use Halloween contact lenses to make the golden eyes of the Cullens, or Bella and Jacob's brown eyes. You can even find the red eyes of the nonvegetarian vampires. They are sold year round at eye doctor's offices and from several places online. The only drawback is the prescription option can be pricey.

Complete the evening with a viewing of one of the movies or a discussion of the books.
