How to Host Your Super Bowl Party

Your team has just won the final playoff game. Deep inside, you knew they could do it, but now they did. It's Super Bowl time baby! Time to celebrate!

The game is the entertainment and here's a Super Bowl menu fit for fellow players and fans alike!

Ginger Martini/Cosmopolitans

  1. A few days before your party, slice and crush a whole, medium sized ginger root. Place it in a jar, and pour as much vodka over it as you think you’ll need for the party. Cap the jar and let it infuse for 3 or 4 days.
  2. Pour the vodka through a sieve into a container. Removing the ginger and retaining the liquid. If a stronger ginger flavor is desired, repeat the process with fresh ginger added to the same infused vodka.
  3. Mix up an iced shaker of cosmos with 4 parts ginger vodka, 2 parts cointreau, 1 part fresh lime juice, and 2 parts cranberry juice. Pour into chilled glasses and garnish with a twist of lime.

Jello shots

Cherry or lime Jell-o brand gelatin

  • 1 cup boiling water
  • 1 cup tequila or vodka

  1. In a bowl, add liquor and boiling water to gelatin
  2. Stir until gelatin has dissolved
  3. Chill to set
  4. Serve in paper souffle cups.
Super Bowl snackers

Jalapeno Poppers

  • 48 large jalapenos. (sliced lengthwise and stem removed)
  • 2 packages cream cheese or 1 cheddar cheese
  • 8 garlic cloves
  • 1 tsp course sea salt
  • 2 cups Panko bread crumbs.

  1. Fill each half with cheese. Top it with the other half of pepper. Dip in egg mixture, then evenly coat in Panko bread crumbs.
  2. Bake on 350 for minutes, or until golden brown. Or fry until golden brown or the poppers float to top. Let cool 5-10 minutes.
Loaded Potato Skins

  • 8 large baking potatoes
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • 1 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 2 Tbsp chopped fresh chives or scallion greens
  • bacon bits
  • shredded cheese

  1. Preheat the oven to 450. Pierce each potato 2 or 3 times. Place the potatoes on a baking sheet and bake for 50 or 60 minutes, or until tender when pierced with a fork. Set the potatoes aside to cool for 5 minutes.
  2. In a small bowl, combine the oil, chili powder, and salt. Cut each potato lengthwise into quarters. Scoop out the potato flesh, leaving a scant 1/4 inch shell. Place the potato skins on 2 large baking sheets. Brush with the oil mixture and bake for 15 minutes, until browned and crisp.
  3. Meanwhile, in a small bowl, combine the sour cream and chives and stir until well blended. Top and serve.
Philly Cheesesteak Sliders

  • Package dinner rolls (cut in half to make two sandwich halves)
  • 1 white onion, thinly sliced
  • 1/2 large green bell pepper, thinly sliced
  • 1 can of mushrooms
  • 1 teaspoon minced garlic
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1/2 pound rib-eye steak, very thinly shaved or sliced
  • 1/3 pound thinly sliced Provolone
  • Mayo or pizza sauce for dressing (optional)

  1. Preheat the oven to 200 degrees F.
  2. Heat a cast-iron skillet or griddle over medium-high heat. When hot add the oil, mushrooms, onions and bell peppers, and cook, stirring, until caramelized, about 6 minutes.
  3. Add the garlic, salt, and pepper, and cook, stirring, for 30 seconds. Push off to 1 side of the griddle.
  4. Add the meat to the hot pan and cook, stirring and breaking up with the back of 2 metal forks. Cook until browned.
  5. Top with cheese until melted, by the spoon fool, spoon onto dinner rolls. Top with other half. Serve warm.
Buffalo Wings

  • 1 package party wings
  • 3 ounces unsalted butter
  • 1 small clove garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup hot sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt

  1. Place a 6-quart saucepan with a steamer basket and 1-inch of water in the bottom, over high heat, cover and bring to a boil.
  2. Place the wings into the steamer basket, cover, reduce the heat to medium and steam for 10 minutes. Remove the wings from the basket and carefully pat dry. Lay the wings out on a cooling rack set in a half sheet pan lined with paper towels and place in the refrigerator for 1 hour.
  3. Preheat the oven to 425 degrees F. Replace the paper towels with parchment paper. Roast on the middle rack of the oven for 20 minutes. Turn the wings over and cook another 20 minutes or until meat is cooked through and the skin is golden brown.
  4. While the chicken is roasting, melt the butter in a small bowl along with the garlic. Pour this along with hot sauce and salt into a bowl large enough to hold all of the chicken and stir to combine.
  5. Remove the wings from the oven and transfer to the bowl and toss with the sauce. Serve warm.
Candy Bar

Set up a bar with your favorite candies in different dishes and let your guests fill small gift bags with their favorite candies.

*Can also be used as a gift bag at the end of party.

Cheesecake shooters

For this one you just need to fill shot glasses with your infamous cheesecake.

*And for your vegetarian friends, offer a veggie tray with humus and cheese pizza.
