Want to party like the stars but don't live in Hollywood? With these easy-to-do tricks you and your guests will be partying like VIPs in no time.

Ever watched the awards shows and wished you were there to be a part of such an auspicious occasion? Here's your chance to be apart of that Hollywood glamour by hosting your own upscale awards party.

Awards Party Decorating

Send out Hollywood themed invitations at least two weeks prior to event, this will allow your guests sufficient time for planning. Replace your big, bulky furniture with as many round tables and chairs as can comfortably fit (allowing enough room for your guests to slide their seats in and out and to manuever back and forth from the buffet table.) Decorate each table with a gold tablecloth. Use a basket of fresh flowers with two cream pillar candles on each side of the basket, as the centerpiece. Place several gold helium filled balloons throughout the room, or use balloons as the centerpiece for your tables.

The day of your party, roll out a red carpet on your outside entrance way for your guests to walk on. Also, have the awards show playing on several different televisions in different rooms to ensure that your guests will be able to see it no matter where they are.

Awards Party Attire

Have your guests dress in their finest attire. For men, tuxedos and for the ladies, formal gowns. You could mark off your designated parking area with a specialty Hollywood themed banner. You can also designate someone to be the coat checker for the night. Handout coat tickets with the guests name on it and attach another to their coats for easy identification.

Awards Party Menu

Tip: Give yourself at least three days in advance to order and prep food items.

Serve your guests their eateries buffet style and have the champagne served by waiters (family members and close friends can help with this.) Have plenty of champagne on hand, for no award’s party is complete without it. Estimate about one bottle per every two guests per half hour. Order an awards theme cake from your local specialty bakery to serve as the centerpiece on your buffet table. Later it can be served as dessert.

On your buffet table, set up a salad bar section with plenty of fresh greens, vegetables such as olives, onions, peppers, mushrooms, bacon bits, cheese etc. and an assortment of salad dressings. Don't forget to set out separate serving utensils for each topping. Keep your toppings on ice to ensure they remain chilled. Replace with fresh ice as needed. On your buffet table you could also serve finger foods such as shrimp cocktails, mini crab cakes, cheddar biscuits, and steak kabobs.

Awards Party Favors

At the end of the night, you could present your own award trophies to your peers, awarding them on their special achievements. Or, simply present each guest with one at the door as they exit, as a party favor. Also, designate a photographer to snap photos of your guests as they arrive. You can mail each guest their picture with a thank you note on the back.

You don’t have to be in Hollywood to live like a star. With a Hollywood theme party such as this one, you can bring that Hollywood glamour straight to you and your guests!
