Add punch to your holiday display by incorporating Christmas Song Titles and their themes into your interior displays.

If you're having guests over for Christmas, consider trying a slightly different decorating theme than the usual pine garland & Christmas Tree decorations. Without straying too much from the wonderful traditional decorations, you can add some punch with thematic holiday decorating. Incorporate a theme such as Winter Wonderland, Babes in Toyland, or Silver Bells into your holiday plan and enjoy the reaction from your guests!

Winter Wonderland Holiday Theme Decorations

  • The concept here is a snow covered wonderland. You can accomplish this on a tablescape, mantel or any other horizontal surface by using miniatures -- trees, houses, vehicles, figurines.
  • Cover the area with white batting or felt. Conversely, you can use a dark colored backdrop, for an evening effect.
  • Incorporate levels into your design (upside down containers or stacks of books), and create a village using the miniatures.
  • As a final touch, dust the entire display with powdered sugar for a beautiful effect.

Babes in Toyland Holiday Theme Decorations

  • This concept revolves around a children's utopia. Envision Santa's Workshop with every toy and plaything imaginable. You can accomplish this tablescape by raiding your kids' toy box!
  • Cover your horizontal surface with a contrasting, solid-colored fabric. Generally, red will be your best option. Incorporate levels into your design, and then arrange the toys artistically.
  • Try to use "traditional" toys -- Etch a Sketch, baby dolls, trucks and construction vehicles -- as opposed to the trendy ones that are currently being advertised.
  • Tuck festive holiday candies into the display -- candy canes, giant lollipops, and wrapped, colorful hard candies.

Silver Bells Holiday Theme Decorations

  • This concepts is an elegant, adult version of holiday decorating. The theme is silver, gold, and white. Anything metallic will work -- look for fabrics that are woven with metallic threads.
  • Cover your horizontal surface with metallic fabric -- gold or silver lame, or woven metallic fabric -- again incorporating levels into the display.
  • Fill large, clear vases with shiny Christmas balls. These should be metallic and only one color per vase.
  • Use different size vases and bowls with the silver and gold balls, and arrange in a pleasing manner. Scatter additional balls at the base of the vases, to create an effect of overflowing abundance.
  • If you would like to add more volume to the display, you can weave wire-edged metallic ribbon throughout the display and/or sprinkle metallic confetti across the whole tablescape.

Enjoy your non-traditional holiday theme decorations!
