Springtime and Easter are joyous times of the year, with Mother Nature’s abundance of new life springing forth with vibrant color to engage our eyes, fragrant bouquets to tantalize our olfactory senses, and a wealth of textures to maximize the experience. You can take the best aspects of Mother Nature’s brilliance to create spectacular and delightful springtime centerpieces in your own environment.

Springtime Tulip and Candle Centerpiece

Use a variety of sizes of pastel pillar candles to create a contrasting foreground to your tulip arrangement. Pack fresh tulips in a beautiful shade of lipstick pink, snugly into a square glass vessel. For maximum impact, tightly pack the tulips into a dense grouping of the stems. You may need to secure the stems with an elastic band to accomplish this.

Group the candles, in a random order of heights and colors, around the tulip vase. You will be creating a candle mass that approximates a gradually increasing spiral. For added visual impact, scatter a few tulip petals amongst the pillar candles.

Easter Egg Tree

Combine your tabletop Christmas tree with a selection of plastic Easter Eggs for a fun and new interpretation. You can hot glue scattere miniature plastic eggs to the faux evergreen to create an image reminiscent of a Christmas tree with ornaments. In contrast, you can completely cover the Christmas tree with many plastic eggs, in a variety of colors and sizes, to create an Easter Egg Tree. This centerpiece definitely has a more cartoony look to it, and would not be appropriate at an elegant or subdued celebration.

Sparkling and Reflective Votives

Create a line using three or four small mirrors down the midline of your table. Scatter pastel flower petals randomly over and around the mirrors, and place clear glass votive holders directly on the mirrors. There should be two or three votive holders per mirror. Place either a white votive or tea light candle in each votive holder, to create an ethereal, delicate and luminescent design.

Natural Floral Cutting Basket

For a super fast, yet naturally beautiful centerpiece, try the following design. Place a shallow willow cutting basket in the center of the table. The basket should have a handle and be shaped to be held in the crook of your elbow, when you are gathering flowers and vegetables outside. Casually lay a double bouquet of tulips in the basket, spreading out the flowerheads and gathering together the stems in an artistic manner. The impact of this display comes from the appearance that you just gathered these fresh flowers while you were strolling in the garden.
